The reviewer of the article that can be printed in Forestry and Forest Melioration must pay attention to the following aspects.
- Does the title of the article represent the content and aim of the study? Is it unique (with a specification of the region, site conditions, etc.) and concise enough?
- Is the article's topic relevant to the scientific scope of the Journal?
- Is the topic essential? Does the study have a novelty and practical importance?
- Does the abstract correspond the content and conclusions? Does it have a sufficient volume (120-150 words)?
- Summary in English, which will be placed on the website, should contain 2,700-3,000 characters without spaces and be structured as follows: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Conclusions, Keywords.
- Keywords must be relevant to the article content (up to 5 words or wordcombinations). They should not repeat the title of the article.
- In the Introduction, the current state of the issue should be described. The Introduction should report insufficient or contradictory data. At the end of the Introduction, the main aim of the study must be stated. The aim should not duplicate the title of the article.
- Materials and Methods must provide enough information to permit exact replication of the research. The methods should be described in detail: location of sample plots, type and amount of material, measured or evaluated characteristics, time and number of measurements, methods and instruments/equipment used in measurements, methods of analysis/estimates, statistical methods, and software used.
- Results. Are the research results presented correctly? Are the tables and graphs built correctly? Are there all tables and figures referred to in the text? The attention must be paid to the rounding-off accuracy of numbers in the graphs and tables, and the availability of symbol explanations in notes.
- Discussion. Does the section contain an analysis of the obtained data and comparisons with similar publications from other regions? Please, give possible proposals if necessary.
- Do the Conclusions fully and correctly illustrate the results of the research? Do they derive from the results? Are they concise and clear?
- Can some parts of the article be reduced, removed, extended or changed? Are there recommendations in terms of style and language?
- References. Is the number of the references sufficient? Are all references appropriate? Are references arranged in alphabetical order and according to Journal guidelines? Do all sources listed in the text have references?
- Recommendation:
a. may be published without changes
b. may be published after minor changes
c. may be published after major changes
d. must be rejected
