FOR AUTHORS

Policy on Transparent Use of Generative AI Tools

Our journal supports the transparent use of generative artificial intelligence (GAI) tools in scientific research and publishing. To ensure clarity and accountability, we apply GAIDeT (Generative AI Delegation Taxonomy) – a taxonomy that helps authors specify which research or manuscript preparation tasks were delegated to GAI tools under human supervision. We support the responsible use of Generative AI tools that respect high standards of data security, confidentiality, and copyright protection in cases such as:

  • Idea generation
  • Language improvement
  • Interactive online search with LLM-enhanced search engines
  • Literature classification
  • Data analysis
  • Visualization

Requirements for authors:

  1. If GAI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) were used during the research or manuscript preparation, authors must provide a disclosure statement.
  2. The statement should be generated using the GAIDeT Declaration Generator and inserted into the manuscript immediately before the References section.
  3. The statement must indicate:
    • the name of the responsible author (or collective responsibility),
    • the specific tasks delegated to GAI (according to GAIDeT),
    • the version of the GAI tool used.
  4. GAI tools are not considered co-authors and cannot bear responsibility for the content of the publication. Full responsibility lies exclusively with the human authors.
  5. The use of AI should not infringe copyright.
  6. The use of AI for fabricating or falsifying data is prohibited.
  7. Unpublished or confidential data should not be uploaded to public AI tools.

Example of declaration:

GAIDeT Declaration. The authors declare the use of generative AI in the research and writing process. According to the GAIDeT taxonomy (2025), the following tasks were delegated to GAI tools under full human supervision: Literature search and systematization; Writing the literature review. The GAI tool used was: ChatGPT 5. Responsibility for the final manuscript lies entirely with the authors. GAI tools are not listed as authors and do not bear responsibility for the final outcomes.

FOR PEER REVIEWERS

Peer reviewers are chosen experts in their fields and should not be using Generative AI for analysis or to summarise submitted articles or portions thereof in the creation of their reviews. As such, peer reviewers must not upload unpublished manuscripts, including any associated files, images or information, into Generative AI tools. Failure to comply with this policy may infringe upon the rightsholder’s intellectual property.

Generative AI may only be utilised to assist with improving review language, but peer reviewers will at all times remain responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of their reviews.
